Case Study: Harcros Chemical Plant

Colorado Concrete Repair was contacted by Harcros, a chemical plant that was struggling with their concrete flooring. Many different issues had taken their toll over the years, but the causes were not as important as the challenges: these problems with the concrete meant that forklifts and other machinery that needed to use the surface couldn’t, which meant that the employees were unable to do their job. You can see some of the before photos, here: Colorado Concrete Repair was asked to come in and help fill the holes, cracks, and dips in the floor. They also needed a better option. Many manufacturing plants use chemicals that can damage floors, but Harcros quite literally creates these chemicals, which meant that their flooring was under even more stress than most other industrial facilities. They needed something special. We suggested the use of Novolac, a specific type of epoxy resin flooring that offers significantly more protection for smooth surfaces when the surfaces are faced with frequent and damaging chemical spills. Coatings with Novolac are also durable enough for frequent forklift and heavy machinery […]

The floor had endured years of neglect and lacked proper maintenance, resulting in a gritty, dirty surface. The property owner sought a durable and aesthetically pleasing alternative to their existing flooring, and contacted Colorado Concrete Repair for their help. You can see the “Before” photos, here: Upon assessment of the concrete floor, our team recognized the extensive wear and tear it had suffered over the years. Grinding and Glue Removal – Case Study

Colorado Concrete Repair was contacted by a new client that needed something unique – something that turned out to be quite the project. The construction crew had removed tile from the property, and unfortunately, it left behind a huge amount of glue. There was tile (and thus, glue) all over almost the entire property, including a huge hump in the main downstairs room that was both wide and high. You can see some of the before photos, here: We were able to get through most of the property quickly and efficiently. But that bear of a hump was an incredible task. It took most of the day and several floor grinding wheels to take the hump down and flatten the floor. Only after several hours of dedicated floor grinding did we finally have the level surface that we were looking for. The hump seemed insurmountable at first, challenging our skills and patience, but we persevered with determination and expertise. The noise and dust were considerable, and it required precise handling to ensure we didn’t damage the surrounding areas. Yet, we […]

Leveling and Flooring for a Private Residence

Colorado Concrete Repair works primarily with commercial properties. But, when needed, we also take on some work with private homes – especially those that need concrete leveling. One of the challenges happening across Denver is that many properties are being rushed during their build. This can mean that the concrete doesn’t have time to fully cure and cause high spots. These high spots need to be flattened for properties that are going to want to eventually have other types of flooring, as any tiles placed on top of it will be more likely to bend or break. That’s where we come in. Now, there are some situations where we need to use professional concrete leveling to get the floors just right. But sometimes, what we can use is grinding. Hand grinding can remove many of the high spots, helping level the flooring without leaning on extra concrete. We hand grind, measure with a leveler, and then clean up afterward so that the owner has a foundation for whatever type of flooring they want.     Contact Us Today For Your […]
